Let's all be random, shall we?

31 Days Challenge: Up to my Knees!

Oh damn… I’m going to have to go back and change all the days for the thing because I missed the eighth… that’s okay.

Anyway, I really hope I can whip something up in 30 minutes, or I’ll be late again!

11: Up to my Knees!

Aurua stared in horror at the snow outside. It was insane, over the course of a day, this utterly terrifying amount fell from the sky.

Okay, so it wasn’t actually that bad.

But! And that is a very large but, it is enough to wriggle its way down into her knee high boots, soaking jean clad skin as it went. Her knees were frozen as the melted water refroze in the cold, and her coat crinkled like plastic every time she took a step.

And cars don’t like to be driven in a foot and a half of snow.

Sluggishly, she sloshed through the still powdery ice, wishing for a pair of snowshoes, geez, she’d even settle for a pair of skis!

Maybe braving the cold to her car wasn’t the brightest idea she’s ever had. But it’s too late now, she was halfway to the parking lot, and going back would make the suffering pointless!

Finally, she got to the large area reserved for company parking but what she saw just made her dispair more. The entirety of the lot was covered, and one vehical looked the same as the next. Aurua went through her choices, which admittedly, didn’t look good. However, she decided to continue on her quest to find her car and get home, and she made slow, steady progress until-

A cold wind blew, and the damp spots on her pants seemed a magnet for cold, her hair whipped across her face, half frozen and stung just as badly as and weapon.

Screw this, she was going back into the building.

Okay, I’m all caught up!
